Below are some photographers that were shown in class, the ones listed below are the ones where i really admired and liked their work.

Eugene Atget- her works viewed where of buildings and alleyways, they were old fashioned and very beautiful.

Walker Evens- showed elements within his images and that really appealled to me and is something that i admire.

Diane Arbus- are images using people, people that are different and out of the ordinary. The image shown was one of a young boy holding a grenade. I really liked how she captured the image and the extrordinariness of it.

Joel Meyerowitz- his images had beautiful colours and were under the use of natural light. These really appealed to me as he captured such admirable natural images.

Bill Brandt- the images viewed where mainly of buildings and were rather dark, something about the darkness of the images appealed to me and created a liking to his works.

Camera Knowledge

Things to know about the camera.....
that i need to remember/learn

• Aperture (F); size of the camera 'hole'/lense.

The smaller the number the bigger the 'hole'/lense.

The bigger the hole the faster the shutter speed.

On screen is shown by a F.

Normal day F= 5.6

Bright day F= 11

• Shutter Speed; can change to under or over expose

Shown on left of camera.

Slow shutter speed= 1:15sec.

Fast shutter speed= 1:500sec.

Over exposure= lighter.

Under exposure= darker.

So have decided to create a blog for my visual diary, and am rather looking forward to this photography class as i havn't done any photography classes before.
